Multimedia Presentation

Students will synthesize the information they gathered into a report / presentation. It will include text, graphics, sound, video,etc. They may use any of the following applications for their presentation; PowerPoint, HyperStudio, ClarisWorks or Claris Home Page.

  • Demonstrate how to start a presentation using the outline feature of PowerPoint. Students use their story board as a guide while they add text for each slide.
  • Each day lead a short mini-lesson demonstrating a new technique for building a presentation.
  • With the students, develop a rubric identifying clear expectations for content and presentation.
  • Presentation Assessment
    • Responds to questions and comments (e.g., can explain decisions made by the group, gives reasons in support of opinions)
    • Has a clear main point when speaking to others
    • Makes eye contact while giving oral presentations
    • Organizes ideas for oral presentations (e.g., includes content appropriate to the audience, uses notes or other memory aids, summarizes main points)

  • Group pursuasive essay
  • Completed group story board
  • Completed group bibliography
  • Multimedia software
  • One computer with Internet access for each small group (2-4 children)
  • Rubric template
  • Projection system
